Colomier Rugby
THE PROJECT
As part of a professional project for my graphic design portfolio, I undertook the task of selecting an established company for a comprehensive rebranding initiative. Throughout this endeavor, I will illustrate the step-by-step process that led to the final outcomes.
THE COMPANY
Colomiers Rugby is a French rugby union club based in Colomiers, a suburb of Toulouse in the Occitanie region of France. Founded in 1915, the club has a rich history and is known for its competitive spirit and dedication to the sport.
Old logo
The current logo of Colomiers Rugby has been in existence since 2014. It was introduced to give the club a refreshed visual identity while still preserving its roots and tradition.
New logo
This is the new version of the logo, more modern and simpler.
The problems
I undertook to redesign the Colomier Rugby logo to give it a more menacing look, while still preserving the colors and emblem of the dove. My goal was to modernize it while maintaining its essence. I wanted our opponents to feel apprehensive when they saw the new logo. With this in mind, I also sought to simplify it to make it more impactful.
Here is an example of a drawing I was able to create before embarking on the new logo. As you can see, the intent to modernize the logo and give it a more menacing look was present from the outset.
